The Great Australian Bike Ride will begin from the steps of Parliament House Melbourne on Saturday March 21st 2009 at the start of an epic, seven month odyssey around Australia.

Travelling anti-clockwise through all States, the Northern Territory and the ACT, the Ride will last 204 days and cover 17,813 kilometres.

Now is your chance to download the registration form and register as one of the riders on this huge event which aims to raise awareness of the problems associated with mental illness.

The Ride is being coordinated by the Australian Rotary Health Research Fund as part of its ongoing work in funding research into mental illness.

Coming soon will be the ability to donate on-line so you can pay your fundraising money straight to the ARHRF through St George Bank.

The route has now been updated following work undertaken by the Stage Managers over the past few weeks. Most of the route has now been driven and some minor changes have been made so  the ride uses roads which either have a better quality surface or carry less traffic.

Organisers are now working with Police and Traffic Authorities in all states and territories so that the ride complies with all regulations to ensure permits can be issued for each stage.
